Forever Forward

The hours are closing to the end of our time.

Fleeting by so fast that my heart and head race.

I am leaving friends that have meant much to me.

With fond memories and many good times behind.

No matter how long our journey, glimpses will return:

the laughter shared about our experiences here.

the poignancy of pertinent topics dear to our hearts.

All together making a difference in our lives.

Our life is at an end in Changchun for a while.

The time to take our leave is well upon us.

Yes, my heart is heavy but spirited with an adventure.

The adventure long sought and planned well.

The open road is beckoning us on, beyond these borders.

Places to the East that have long held mystery and wonder.

I am filled with anticipation, but trepidation is seeping forth.

I must stand firm and trust the power that fills the void.

My life is taking a different path from teacher to adventurer.

I must hold onto this driving force and ride beyond my limits.

Heading out to distances that challenge my very core, my very being.

Ride the wind and keep my eyes ever forward for new experiences.

Always knowing that out there are people that support our wanderings.

Keeping the vigil to know our comings and goings, keeping us in their hearts.

This safety net surrounds us throughout the journey bringing us warmth.

We can draw energy from this driving force to keep us going forward.

I must not look back with tear stained cheeks, but forward with dreams.

The wind passes through my head and heart to cleanse the fogginess.

My eyes focus on the wonders I have ahead to quench my desires.

These are the dreams fulfilled and I must concentrate on their coming.

Forever forward is the mantra beating with every breath I take.

Forever forward to destinations I have only read about.

Forever forward, playing with the wind and basking in the sun.

Forever forward with the knowledge that life continues onward.

Enjoy all the gifts that are in your path and rejoice with life itself.
