The
Amazing Dragin' Run!
Round The
World by Motorcycle
|
|
Traveling
about
75,000 Km total 40+ countries on four continents
and one year to complete. |
|

We will
ride a modified
Chinese Chang Jiang,
750 cc motorcycle and will bring
YeYe, the last living, really, real
dragon along as our mascot.
|
Read from the beginning in
Our
Journals to
find out why they did not
finish with the Chang Jiang. |

 |
The
Dragin’ Run
is a
ride/tour/excursion/dumb-ass
idea conceived out of a
frustration to circumnavigate
the world in a yacht. Not
being able to afford such a boat
and having had the experience of
knowing what “a hole in the
water into which one constantly
pours money” really means, we
have opted to come as close as
possible to circum-touring the
globe on a Chinese,
Chang Jiang,
750cc motorcycle. |
|
Why?
Why not! Is it better to
sit on one’s hinny for months on
end and then spend thousands of
dollars on a two or more week
“guided” excursion to some
quasi-exotic place only to be
separated from the culture,
traditions and experiences of
the locals OR spend a little
more and visit everywhere and be
able to do everything?
|
Is it dangerous?
Maybe. Will it be
difficult? Probably.
Is it worth the discomfort,
frustration, anxiety and the
full range of human emotion?
YES, YES, YES
We plan to leave Changchun in mid July 2006 and finally arrive somewhere in Baja Sur, Mexico where Janet and I can finally settle down on a beach and live out our remaining in quiet retirement.
I DON’T THINK SO!
We are already talking about South America, a book, a lecture series and a couple of other projects that we would like to explore.

What is your dream vacation on a motorcycle,
maybe an around the world motorcycle tour?
Can you imagine your travels
taking you thru 4 continents, over 40 +
countries, and using an old Chan Jiang and not a modern
Harley, BMW or Honda?
Could you do this motorbike
global journey when you are 65
year old from North East China west to Europe,
Canada, America, and Mexico, over 70,000 miles?
Would you be willing to
camp out with a very old
motorcycle with two tractor style
seats on the bike and a side car as your means of
transportation?
Would
you be willing to do it with the same person that
you have been with for the last 41 years?
Meet Jack and Janet!
They are going for it and
their journey will be a truly remarkable
motorcycle adventure of a lifetime.
Follow along with them and
read about their amazing
adventures right here at

against Janet in what the news
photographer calls a "cool

picture was used as one of the
many pictures and stories in the
local newspaper in
Changchun about
the Murray's.
